ANTI-FOG ADDITIVES FOR
PLANT-BASED AND FOOD-GRADE
Palsgaard offers a series of plant-based and food-grade anti-fog additives for PE films and EVA copolymers which are perfectly suited for manufacturers looking to replace their current additives with safer and more sustainable alternatives.
VIDEO FEATURE
How does anti-fogging on packaging help prevent food waste? Studies show that many consumers prefer foods in crystal-clear, dry packaging rather than ones containing moisture.
Hot or chilled food? PP or PE film? Our Einar® products are designed to help you overcome fogging, and keep food out of the bin.

Einar® 611 is a specialised, plant-based, food-grade and highly efficient internal anti-fog chemistry. It is ideally suited for demanding applications in coextruded and laminated packaging films where the anti-fog is often added to a very thin section of the entire film.
This long-lasting anti-fog additive is the perfect alternative to sorbitan and non-vegetable polyglycerol esters as it is able to match or exceed these while being safe enough to eat.
Einar® 611 provides fast and long-term anti-fog performance and has proven to work well in cold fog applications at very low temperatures. It has high extraction resistance in the polymer where it is incorporated and therefore is very good at maintaining its high efficiency through a lamination process. The recommended loading level for most applications is 0.2 - 0.4%.
In hot-fog applications, it can be difficult to achieve high performance as well as a prolonged effect. Einar® 611 is the ideal solution for PE films in applications such as hot packaged foods where it lowers the surface tension of the surface, causing the water droplets to spread into a transparent film.
Einar® 211 is an excellent performer in many conventional food packaging applications where the objective is to obtain a good and reliable performance in either a cold- or hot fog application. Einar® 211 works well in both monolayer and coextruded film and will be a fast-acting anti-fog, producing clear and transparent film for an extended period of time. Einar® 211 is a GMS made from fatty acids and glycerol, based on sunflower oil. It is available in paste form.
The recommended loading level of Einar® 211 is 0.3 - 0.6% for most cold fog applications in LDPE or LLDPE film. For hot fog applications the recommended loading level is 0.2 - 0.4%.
Einar® 614 is a general-purpose anti-fog additive based on polyglycerol esters for use in various PE types and applications. Efficient in both hot and cold-fog conditions, it offers good protection against condensate on the polymer surface ensuring a clear view of the packaged product. Einar® 614 is available in liquid form.
